Hi, I’m David.

I’m not your standard solicitor. In fact, I’m not a solicitor at all. But don’t panic, I am degree-qualified in law, along with LPC and the years of doing this, so I know my onions.

Why am I not a solicitor? Quite simply, because I don’t need or want to be one. Frankly, the red tape and associated costs aren’t too appealing. Our firm holds professional indemnity insurance, and we have been running since 2014.

Let me explain.

I never set out to be a solicitor or barrister. Originally, I joined my father’s home improvement business and trained as a plumbing and heating engineer, progressing into working my way up the business rankings to managing director.

But then, a family member had a major legal problem and didn’t know where to turn. So I started researching solutions. Finally, I found the necessary answers and put together a legal case – which we won!

And it went from there.

Friends and family came to me with their legal issues, which I loved solving. So, I decided to study law properly to help solve people’s legal problems. I gained my degree and then learned the legal practice course.

But then I realised that if I wanted to become a solicitor or barrister, I would have to follow a lengthy career path in legal practice. Plus, I didn’t want to become part of that world. I knew it was unaffordable for many people and businesses and was totally against my core ethos of helping people!

So, I started David T Wade & Co Legal Services in 2014 with that idea in mind. I want to help, teach, and guide individuals and small businesses on how to conduct their own legal affairs, albeit with the help of someone who knows the law and process. But without that fancy horsehair wig.

And that’s the model we use. Our clients run their own legal cases with us by their side, providing the correct advice, draft documentation, and support through to completion. Think of it like this: if you play a game of chess, instead of having someone make all the moves for you while you wonder what is going on, you have someone by your side telling you which moves to make.
